Pauline Hatzigeorgiou is an art historian and curator based in Brussels. Her work often engages with the economic conditions that shape artistic production, with a focus on site, language, and transpositions in visual and performance practices through post—conceptual approaches. She is the co—founder of SB34, a non-profit organization dedicated to providing production spaces and programming for experimental practices. Recent projects include one led by Simon Asencio, exploring dialects as culturally invested languages through intertextual procedures.
Pauline collaborates regularly with institutions and served as Associate Curator at WIELS, where she curated several exhibitions, including Thea Djordjadze’s, the ceiling of a courtyard (2023), and the 2024 edition of the programme Indiscipline. The latter reflects on the legacy of the EXPRMNTL film festival, featuring artists such as Michael Snow, Eleanor Ivory Weber, Ufuoma Essi, Lenio Kaklea, and Nafaq.
Recently, she has been appointed curator of the Sommerakademie Paul Klee for the 2025 edition, for which she has invited three guests: Nika Dubrovsky, Niloufar Emamifar, and Georgia Sagri, as well as Bern Academy of the Arts (HKB) alumna Karen Amanda Moser.
She also teaches at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Brussels and pursues a writing and publishing practice.
Pauline Hatzigeorgiou est historienne de l’art et commissaire d’exposition basée à Bruxelles. Son travail s’intéresse aux conditions économiques qui façonnent la production artistique, avec une attention particulière portée au site, au langage, et aux transpositions dans les pratiques visuelles et performatives, à travers des approches post—conceptuelles. Elle est cofondatrice de SB34, une organisation à but non lucratif dédiée à la mise à disposition d’espaces de production et à la programmation de pratiques expérimentales. Parmi ses projets récents figure celui mené par Simon Asencio, explorant les dialectes en tant que langues culturellement investies à travers des procédés intertextuels.
Pauline collabore régulièrement avec des institutions et a été commissaire associée au WIELS, où elle a conçu plusieurs expositions, notamment Thea Djordjadze: the ceiling of a courtyard (2023), ainsi que l’édition 2024 du programme Indiscipline. Ce dernier revient sur l’héritage du festival de film EXPRMNTL, en réunissant des artistes tels que Michael Snow, Eleanor Ivory Weber, Ufuoma Essi, Lenio Kaklea et Nafaq.
Récemment, elle a été nommée commissaire de l’édition 2025 de la Sommerakademie Paul Klee, pour laquelle elle a invité trois artistes : Nika Dubrovsky, Niloufar Emamifar et Georgia Sagri, ainsi que Karen Amanda Moser, ancienne élève de la Haute école des arts de Berne (HKB).
Elle enseigne également à l’Académie royale des Beaux-Arts de Bruxelles et développe une pratique d’écriture et d’édition.
